Goodbye Spring...

Right now, Summer has erupted here in Norway. Of course these sunny, hot days are nice, and of course we enjoy the warm, flower scented nights, but I wasn't completely ready for it yet...
I expected Spring to last for a little while longer, give me time to adjust, to anticipate the new season.
The thing is, I love Spring.  I love Fall too, by the way.  I like the in between - seasons, when it's not too cold, not too hot, where nature is either dying or being born again.
Summer just has too many expectations, too many hopes that might get killed. You're supposed to spend your days outside in the sun (God forbid if it rains!)  have fun, swim in the sea, build sand castles, reconnect with your family, wear a bikini and get a tan. Memories need to be made, pictures to be taken, trips to be done. I don't say that Summer can't be lovely and fun, I know it can be! But, this season is just a little too much high maintenance sometimes. So many musts, dos and don'ts.
Spring is just there. Unpretentious. Cool, fresh, often silent. It doesn't matter if it rains or if the temperature is a tiny bit low, you accept it anyway. You go for walks in the muddy forest, or you choose to stay indoors. Both are fine. It's like everything is a bonus, a gift.
So, even though temperatures are high (by Norwegian standards, that is) right now, I want to stay in the Spring mood for a while. Build castles in my mind, not in sand...

These Spring pictures where taken a few weeks ago with my mobile phone. The one above is of wild white anemones in the forest near my house.

They are just so pretty!

And so are the blue ones.

And, walking along my street, I saw these coltsfoot flowers, growing in the crack between the sidewalk and the cement base of the fence. They are usually the very first flowers we see around here, when the snow is gone, and sometimes even before.  They are so stubborn, so determined to get out there, no matter what.
They're inspiring!

Picture of the day: Paris Metro Entrance

One of the remaining Art Nouveau metro entrances in Paris, from the early 1900s. This one is Place Saint-Michel, in the heart of the Latin Quarter.

En av de gjenværende metro-nedgangene i jugendstil, laget på begynnelsen av 1900tallet. Denne er på Place Saint-Michel, i hjertet av Latinerkvarteret.
